yesterday at school we had a creative hair design competition. our instructor gave us quart size ziploc bags full of junk and we had to incorperate all the items into the hairdo. under the cut are pictures of my updo.

I emailed a business owner that I look up to in the hair industry, and asked her if she would be willing to apprentice someone...she emailed me back this response

"We may be able to work out something, but we are getting ready to move so it would have to be after the move.
Definitely keep bugging me if you are serious."

She is an awesome person anyway, and to learn from her would be fantabulous!! Im not gonna say who or where they are as of yet, because many people on lj know her and her business.

just keep me in your prayers that I will be able to learn the skill from her.

today was pet day for us :)

Ive been wanting to get fish again, but im super cheap, so, we went to bob's and got 2 fantailed goldfish, one with googly eyes thats black and one with normal eyes thats gold. the black one we named shark bait, and the gold one we named ooo-ha-ha. we also saw the cutest tan hooded rattie baby there, and got it too, we thought it was a girl cause all the other ratties in that tank were girls...but when we got it home i noticed that it was in fact a boy. so now we have our new rattie, which we named neville in a bird cage, and our two other ratties in a large rat cage (their names are ginny and hermione...notice a pattern??) Im gonna call the vet this week and see how much it would cost to neuter him, so we could put him in with the girls.


I also got a package from an online secret santa :) she sent me some thinning shears, a razor, a box of haircutting combs, a box of rattail combs and two christmas hand towels for the bathroom, Im really excited to have gotten these things, they will come in handy at school :)

just so you know, this is what a finger wave looks like....Its supposedly the 'ultimate test' of a hairdresser. If you can make a hairstyle using only your hands, a comb and gel, no clips or anything, then youre a hairdresser...whatever



This is the most tedious hairstyle EVAR!!!! I begged to go back to braids today. Oh well, at least its not a popular style and we wont ever have to do it on a real person.
