It was weird...I stubbed it getting into the shower sunday, and it hurt pretty bad, but I didnt think i did anything serious to it. I went to put my socks on this am, and thought OMG why is my toe dirty XD I thought it was dirt from somewhere. It doesnt hurt unless i really flex it, its actually kinda numb. numb like after you have had a filling and the novacaine starts wearing off so its slightly tingly... yannowhatimean? anyway, Its quite a bit darker right now. if it gets darker ill take more pics XD

your governor is planning on lowering the mandatory waiting period for euthanizing animals in shelters to 3 days! This gives owners hardly any time to find their babies and get them back! Please please write him and let him know how horrible this is!
thanks <3

Also, to my non-californian friends, please pass this on to those you know there =^_^=

Ive been anemic for awhile now, and taking more iron hasnt worked. yesterday i went to see the hematologist, and today I went in for an iron infusion. its quite common to have a serious allergic reaction to the iron they give you, so they give you a test dose, and stay with you to make sure you dont go into Anaphylactic shock. it took about a min, maybe less for me to react :( my chest got all tight, i couldnt breathe, and my vision blurred. it was quite scary, but the nurses quickly gave me benadryl and something else trhu my iv and in 10 min i could breathe easier. So now im waiting for the dr to call me with an appointment to get a different treatment. This one is still iv, but it only takes a couple of hours verses the 6 or so the one i went in for today would have taken. BUT Ill have to get them more often :/

I got my first sewing machine when i turned 16. I still have it. Actually its the only sewing machine ive really used, aside from the ones in home ec. Several years ago we found an older (we thought 70's ish) singer in a cabinet at the thrift store for $25. I told Jason I had to have it, and that yes, i would use it :) I tested it out once, and used it as a desk up until recently. It has gotten more sewing use recently...sorta. Ive been using my first machine on top of it. :) ive not stuck with sewing much because my first machine always jammed up and all i could do was clean it out a bit and keep going until it jammed again. I know nothing about machine maitenance. So last night it got jammed again, and i got frustrated and stopped sewing. I tried again this morning and didnt have any luck with it.
This afternoon I decided to open up the singer and try it out. it took me a minitue to figure out how to turn it on. (just plug it in lol). I pulled a piece of scrap fabric out and sewed a bit, and its just great! it definatley could use cleaning, i havent done any to it. The machine didnt come with a manual, and I just noticed tonight that it has a model # on the front. So i decided to do a little research. It turns out that this machine is one of the best that singer has ever put out :) its the singer 401(A) I checked out selling prices online, and got an average of $202 the lowest price $25 (what I paid) the highest $330, but I saw stories about ones being sold for $500 and up with all the accessories (not neccisaraly a cabinet tho) heres a link to a blog entry about the type of machine in case you care to look
http://blog.sew-classic.com/2008/10/25/singer-401-401a-403--403a--404--sewing-machine-review.aspx

So now I think Im going to call the sewing machine shop here in town and talk to them about tuning up my little singer. Im not sure how to get it out of the cabinet, but they can probably tell me how.
Ive wanted to take it out for quite awhile now so I could re-finish it. Its an ickie blonde color and the finish is chipping, and it needs new hardware.

so anyway Ive had a wonderful sewing machine sitting in my house for 2 or 3 years collecting dust while i wrestled with my cheapo machine that I got when i was 16. Oh well, now that I know what Ive got Ill use it :) (but not until after Jason gives it a complete once over for spiders, one popped out this evening and scared the crap outta me)

give blood!

I tried to give blood today, but my iron levels were a little too low (11.3, they need to be at least 12.5) Anyway Everyone should give blood (If they are able).

A few facts:

The American Red Cros in Idaho strives to collect an average of 1200 units of blood each week to meet the needs of patients in 40 local hospitals

*****

In the Idaho service area, every 20 min someone needs blood

*****

Donations typically decline during the summer months and winter holidays

*****

Approx 38% if the american population is eligible to donate blood

*****

A whole blood donor can give blood every 56 days

*****

One whole blood donation can be seperated into componants and each could be given to a different patient.
Your donation could help save more than one life

*****

A double red cell donor can give 2 units of red cells every 112 days

*****

Plaelet donors can dontate a maximum of 24 times a year.

*****

The platelets in your blood stop or prevent bleeding. They are needed for patients undergoing treatment of Leukemia or heart surgery for example.

*****

More than 4.
5 million patients need blood transfusions each year in the US and Canada

*****

Someone needs blood every 2 seconds

*****

42 days: How long most donated red blood cells can be stored

*****

17% of non-donors cite "never thought about it" as the main reason for not giving.
15% say they are too busy

*****

the #1 reason blood donors say they give blood is because they "want to help others"

*****

If all blood donors gave 3 times a year, blood shortages would be a rare event (the current average i about 2)

*****

46.5 gallons: The amount of blood you could donate if you begin at age 17 and donate every 56 days until you reach 79 years old.

*****

the actual blood donation actually takes about 10 min.
The entire process - from the time you sign in to the time you leave - takes about an hour

*****

giving blood will not decrease your strength

*****

Every blood donor is given a mini physical, checking the donors temp, blood pressure, and hemocrit level (red blood cells count) to ensure its safe for him or her to donate

*****

All donated blood is tested for infectious diseases before it can be released to hospitals, including HIV, Hep b &c, and syphilis.

*****

All info given to the red cross is confidential.

*****

Please think about donating!

What is your first reaction when someone says "I need to talk to you"?

View 505 Answers

Ive never Answered one of these before, but this one is an easy one for me! I HATE it when someone says I need to talk to you. I get really nervous and shaky and I always feel that Im in big trouble. Ive taught Jason not to say that, or to clarify as soon as he says it that its not a bad thing.
